PC-Based Automation is a revolutionary and advanced automation system designed for steel plants, mainly for long product hot rolling mill and steel making plant (EAF, LF, CCM).

Basically PC Based Automation is using high-class server PC to replace the CPUs of legacy PLC (Programmable Logic Control), using a much advanced and open platform and industrial automation programming language.

Much Better Performance - Today’s PC uses faster processors than PLC; In the PC world, it is already in Gb (Gigabytes) while PLC is in Mb, or even at Kb only. Having faster processing capability will give advantage to additional features to certain specialized control task

Huge Space Savings - High density workstation or server class PC can be installed in a rack-mounted system giving one cabinet enough power to run a plant

Freedom of Hardware Bond - in the PC world, the hardware is interchangeable within different brands/manufacturer; thus, giving the flexibility for easier replacement of hardware

and less bonded with one manufacturer for the entire lifecycle of the system

Upgradability - Today’s PC are easily replaced and upgraded independently of brand, often without issues requiring technical service and with complete freedom of connectivity

System Simulation Before Site Installation - When using soft PLC, the entire system can be tested at the final stage of development in the laboratory, where some final adjustment/improvement can be done with final customer input. This can also be used as a training tool for operators to test and familiarize the system before actual site installation
